Proverbs 14v12
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.”
There is a feeling of despair as I read the above scripture. Does a way leads us to death? Obviously, it does not talk about physical death – which it could be as well – but for sure speaks about spiritual death, including emotional death.
Two important points to mention:
- “A way that seems right”: in fact it does seem right, so how could the man know that it is not right?
- “But in the end”: it means that for a while all is well and the way is smooth, creating no worries or any sense of death.
So, how could we know? The answer is still in the Bible – the book of all answers:
Proverbs 3v5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
The basic is this: “in all your ways acknowledge Him”, which covers…the rest of the Bible!
There is a way to know!
Our Heavenly Father, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, that you guide us to keep acknowledging you in all our ways, our physical, emotional, spiritual life, to keep putting you ahead of us, so you open the path for us, the path that you have chosen for your children. I pray for a decision in our life that we follow You! Amen!
