– Genesis 1v3
I am sure that we have heard again and again this verse when we discuss topics as the creation of the universe or how powerful our words can be. No harm, yet, to remind ourselves that our Lord, Himself, used spoken language and words to create what we see and experience around us. It is difficult to grasp the methods of creation but there is one thing that we can understand: He thought about it, planned it and as He spoke it. Then it came to pass. The use of words reflects the “action”. We might think about things, still, the power comes when we speak about them, when we call them by their name. Something very much connected with practicing a life of prayer.
Do not misunderstand. It is as important what we think, as it is important what we speak. We need just to see the connection of making a thought an action. A way to perform action is by expressing our thoughts or beliefs through the spoken language.
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
– Romans 10v9
It is the base of our salvation. We need to believe in our heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, risen from the dead BUT equally important to CONFESS WITH OUR OWN MOUTH! That’s how important and powerful is what we speak out, what we testify. That’s the reason that baby baptism is not considered as baptism. The baby cannot be educated on faith, cannot yet understand who Jesus Christ is and for sure s/he cannot CONFESS anything!
