Loneliness and serving…

Good morning and a blessed Sunday to everybody wherever you are and whatever you do. My prayer is that all are done for our Lord’s Glory and for His sake. I speak peace, love, joy, creativity and greatness upon your lives and all to see that you belong to Him, in Jesus Name, amen!

Madame de Maintenon wrote: “the true way of suffering one’s troubles is to solace those of others.”

The past week, I visited few times one of the hospitals in Belfast as my friend had an operation on her knee. Moving around a hospital – and not only – we can observe not only the physical pain but the emotional pain and loneliness of people. My friend told me that she had two visits from a Protestant Minister as well as a Catholic Priest. They were not there to convert her but to say hi and encourage her with the word of God and a warm human presence. She said “this is my therapy, to talk with people”.

It is true. People need to talk and to be listened. I have seen it again and again and again through the work in the Loving Ministry. The truth is that as humans we are limited. We cannot be omnipresent. We cannot satisfy everybody or agree with everybody. There is a lot of loneliness out there! The Lord has asked us to serve. There is healing in serving. We get our mind out of our own troubles and thoughts and put our focus on somebody else!

It is not difficult to find people around you and listen to them. They don’t need to be the ones who trigger you (smiles)…can be a man in the street, a girl in a supermarket or a friend who lives in another place but still we can make a phone call. I believe that when we pray to our Lord to bring the opportunity to serve somebody, He will do it. Let’s just ask!
