The sunis shining and the amazing wind is gone! Yesterday, truly, I remembered the two
hurricanes I have been through (Keith and Chantal, 2000 and 2001) in the Caribbean and wondering how close we were to have one in Northern Ireland! I lost my balance quite few times till I reach to the swimming pool centre and eventually I got a taxi to make sure I could reach class! I had a feeling of …Mary Poppin’s style!
Recently, I read something that Marian Wright Edelman wrote and I quote:
“We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.”
I find this statement very true and very wise. A lot of times we look for the big things
and what can be noticed by us or others and we completely forget all the other daily small things that are our daily blessings and our daily opportunities to make a difference and to act as Christ’s ambassadors.
We need to get each opportunity and use it. For God there are no big things or small,
for Him the only thing that He sees is our heart. He sees how our heart reacts to important and not important things, issues or challenges.
And still, true, all small differences will pile up and bring new ones on the way, beautiful surprises and exciting changes.
Ghandi said: “Be the change you want to see in the world”.
Our Lord doesn’t want pathetic kids going around and whine but kids who willing to make
a difference no matter how big it is or small, how noticeable or not. Amen!
What difference will we make today?
