Celebrations…

Do You breathe this moment? Celebrate! Are you capable of reading this post? Celebrate! Rejoice in the Lord! Celebrate His name and His faithfulness! Life can be a troubled, miserable place but we keep celebrating because of Him. Think! Always, in the darkest of moments, there is a good reason to celebrate!

Celebrations are part of human life since civilization is known, history was written and memory remembers. Plenty of celebrations are described in the Bible, old and new testament. The family celebrates, the community celebrates, the village and the town as well. In fact, we do create any opportunity to celebrate with gatherings, food, dance, exhibitions, ceremonies and so other many ways.

We celebrate events, life, blessings, decisions and choices. We participate in the celebrations of our beloved ones. Do you remember the story of the prodigal son? He was lost and gone but he returned to his father. That’s what happens each moment all around the world. There are sons and daughters who did not know our God but finally they find their way to Him through Jesus Christ who enables reconciliation. It happens continuously; people get saved! There are also children who knew the Father God, they moved out of the relationship but at some point they find their way back to Him.

This is the greatest reason for celebration; every time we see that someone comes to the Lord and reconciles with Him; we celebrate that one more soul comes back or joins into the family.

That’s what the father said to his other son:

Luke 15v32

“But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.”

There are, unfortunately, believers who are disturbed when somebody comes to faith; it is for them a matter of competition. Why that person is the centre of attention or given more talents when I am for so long serving the Lord?

We need to remember that it is not about competition and it is not about us! It is about the glory of God and His plan to be accomplished.

So, let’s celebrate for sons and daughters who return in the Body of Christ! Amen!

Love,

Dimitra
