Assumptions…

Our Father in Heavens, we come to your presence today and in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Saviour and we submit and surrender all in your hands. You are omnipresent, we know all and your wisdom is above any wisdom, your plans are perfect and your character a character of love and compassion. Amen!

Good morning wonderful people! May the blessings of our Lord be with you all day through and His Holy Spirit to guide you in all to be done.

We use to make a lot of assumptions in life. In simple issues as well as in more complicated. Yesterday, I discover an assumption of mine. I always considered – for unknown reasons – that Nehemiah was a prophet type of guy! As the last two weeks in one of the Bible studies I use to teach, we go through the Book of Nehemiah, I decided to check out who was Nehemiah. The scholars note that he was the Governor of Judah! He was also the cupbearer to the King of Persia. He was not a teacher or prophet. By the way, it is an amazing book and we can read in it what can happen when we allow God to be with us.

Talking with people, going through the social networks and any other source of discussions, I come across assumptions again and again. As Christians we feel injustice when people do assumptions about our faith and they check things on their surface than go deep and make a search before say or believe anything.

I believe that we are obliged to do the same when we desire to speak about others, their beliefs, their philosophies or actions/thoughts. If we do not do our independent/objective research, it is better to keep our big mouth shut!

Listen carefully, study in depth and then speak! Amen!

Love,

Dimitra
