“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”

That’s what we read in Zephaniah 3v17

I delight to start my day with this promise. What about you? It was promised to Jerusalem and we know what Jerusalem means for us in our life as Christians. At that time, it was a promise that would follow after great disasters and the wrath of the Lord. If you wish, read the whole chapter. We can see it as a prophesy as well concerning the mission of our Lord Jesus.

My favourite part is when He says “I will quiet you with my love”. Wow, can you craps the feeling and the sensation of this promise? We run left and right, we are anxious, our heart beats so loud sometimes that we can truly hear her, our inner world is not quiet at all but anxious and unbalanced.

However, His love can quiet us. Can you visualise it not only with your eyes but with your senses? I think that what love is: to feel safe, comforted and quiet; to have that kind of peace given to you that basically you are so quiet inside you…as an empty space full of warmth.

This is the love of our Lord and it was greatly given to us. Stay still and enjoy it! Amen!
