A blessed Sunday to all of you and as a new week begins, my prayer is that our God Father hears with attention the desire of our heart to serve Him, to bring clarity to what He wants from each one of us, to do for the Kingdom and where there is confusion to be removed in the name of Jesus Christ and to be replaced with peace, amen!
We have heard again and again that we are one body and Christ is our head. We are part of the Body of Christ and we are all useful in what He gives us to do. We need to remember this, even if it seems that our mission is to work individually but still we are part of the same body and we work for the benefit of all. We do work together and we need to continue working together.
Let’s read in 1Corinthians 12v7-11
“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines. “
This scripture is very clear and shows how we work together and each one has different gifts of the Spirit and these gifts we put in the “common basket”. There is not bigger or smaller, all is important. Two vital points, according to my understanding, are at first, “given for the common good”. It is about all of us, not just me. It is not about a personal justification or ambition but about our common good. Second, ” all these are the work of the one and the same Spirit”. It is not our work, it is His work.
(p.s. this post is especially dedicated to the ones to whom a ministry was given and I pray that the focus remains Jesus and not a personal goal.)
