Good morning my dear friends! A wet, cloudy and damp day in this corner of our beautiful planet but still glorious! You see, it is not what is outside there but what it is inside here that make a day glorious!

Roots grow in my brain today, I see roots, I visualize roots, I can hear them cracking the soil…

Today, I am thinking how strong, how influencian, how creative and how destructive roots are in our life. It always depends upon what type of roots we are talking about, bitter once or sweet ones? Poisoned ones or nourishing ones? That’s how I would present our heart and our soul: they are like roots. Upon all differences between humans, discrimination, hate and wars, there is one true difference: it is not the colour, neither the shape nor the age! It is the culture. A culture strong as roots are. Culture is our root. It shaped us slowly, slowly without us knowing it!

Roots are amazing things…read how they work, how they survive, how they manupilate:

Job 8v17

“it entwines its roots around a pile of rocks and looks for a place among the stones.”

Job 14v8-9

“Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant. “

Jeremiah 17v8

“He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Matthew 15v13

“He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled
up by the roots.”

We understand the strength of roots, the above scriptures provide a colourful picture! I believe that it is up to us to comprehend the roots we need to water and the ones we need to uproot. In a garden there are amazing plants and herbs but there are weeds as well! During the journey of uprooting, it is important to chose not what people or tradition or culture say but what the Lord speaks.

My Father in Heavens, I pray that you bless and guide each one of us to recognize where the weeds are and help us to uproot them through your strength, in Jesus Name, amen!
