A new week in our life and I pray that our Lord holds each one of us in His prosperous, healing hands and take us to places we never dreamed of. I pray that He opens doors in our life that guide us to His purpose and that the Holy Spirit will teach us new things and drive us towards new holy experiences. I pray all in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, amen!
Who we really are?
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
As I study this scripture this morning…it hit me! I come to realize the strength we carry as Christ’s Ambassadors and at the same time the responsibility of being His. It is not an easy task but it can be truly smoothly when we keep our focus on Jesus. It is not us who keep our saltiness, it is always through Him and only.
We are the light of the world! Wow! “Listening” to this phrase, I feel its strength in an overwhelming way! How can we be the light of anything? But yes, we are and we are through Christ and not by our own powers. When we are true to our faith, when we honestly love the Lord, we can’t be anything else than light. There is no darkness in light. Soon or later we will be “A city on a hill cannot be hidden”. If not, we need to re-examine where we stand and if our love for the Lord is genuine. Whether our priority is to show off our love for the Lord or to truly live it and experience it, no matter the circumstances.
In Greece, we have a saying: “there are three things that we can’t hide: coughing, money and love”. When we love the Lord, it can’t be hidden! We will shine soon or later! Amen!
