Today, a day, a new day, 24hrs ahead and nobody knows what the day will bring. Looking around and about in the Bible, we come to comprehend how much can be achieved, how much can be lost and how much can be compromised within a day: Today.
“I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “today–yes, tonight–before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times.”
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”
“Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”
“Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.”
“Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”
A day, today, might seems just a day. What a day is in comparison to eternity, isn’t it? Still, a today’s act or choice can mark the rest of our life.
How do we want to spend today? What do we want to get busy with, today? With whom we want to be today?
“and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.”
