A real passion remains a passion!(nv)

“Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.”

-Luke 1v36

Our Father God, we come in the name of Jesus Christ and pray that Lord we are not cold or lukewarm with you. We pray that our first love, our first passion is alive inside us and continues driving us closer to you, allowing us to do your will each day, amen!

Last week, I was talking with an elder person of 86(!) years old. She said “I feel lost”. I asked what she meant and to my surprise she said: “I am 86 years old. I want to know what the Lord wants me to do for Him. What is my work for Him?”.

I was amazed! I told her that she was – for sure – an inspiration for me at that moment and for sure she left a legacy in my own life. How many other lives, she probably has already touched! When we are younger we dream the moment that we will retire and do all we like…fishing, sleeping, hiking, resting, nothing…

There are people out there, though, who do not think retirement. They have a great passion in their lives and can’t think their existence without it. Real passions do not die, no matter how old we are or for how long we have practiced our passion!

How is our passion with the Lord? cold, warm, lukewarm, hot? Our passion is alive or slowly dying? Are we truly active or just wait for retirement?

Elizabeth was in old age and previously barren, thus in that age she became pregnant! Amazing eh? Are we pregnant with the word of God? Are we pregnant with our passion for Him or we just hide behind all excuses of not being “pregnant”?
