How is your “marriage”? (c)

A beautiful marriage, a unique union…DS ©

One more day under the sun!

My prayer today is about feeling secure in the Lord. I pray that our Heavenly Father who knows all and He is the  true creator, blesses us today and protects us from all harm; that He guides us to understand and listen to what He speaks, that we leave our own ways and follow His ways and all I prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, amen!

A devotional in the magazine of UCB (United Christian Broadcasters) reads:

“Our marriages break down when truth is violated, integrity is forsaken, trust is broken, manipulation is allowed, self-interest is the rule, control is the goal, and time isn’t invested.”

Observing relationships we conclude that the above statement is so true. It applies to all type of relationships. When the basic values are violated, eventually the relationship will break down.

The most important “marriages” we do have, even before we get married our spouse, are our marriage with the Lord and the marriage with our self. Note, that the “marriage” with our self is the only one that we cannot get a divorce! We carry our self wherever we go, whatever we do! We can decide not to follow the Lord and run away from Him. We can divorce our spouse, our friends, our colleagues and the whole society but never our self.

Among all these “marriages”, there is one that we might go for a divorce but the bridegroom will not apply for divorce, ever. I am talking about our Lord. He created us and He has plans, good plans for us. He has promised to never  forsake us. In few, He will never violate the truth, forsake the integrity, break the trust, allow manipulation, go for self-interest, try to control, and invest no time. He is the most stable, honest, beneficial and trustful person we can have in our lives. He will never give up on us, He will love us unconditionally, under any circumstances and He will go many extra miles for us. It is worthy to be and stay married to Him. Amen!

It is written:

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
