We, still, have a child full of joy and happiness inside us… DS ©

Good morning good people. Another busy day, we like it or not. That’s life folks!

There is a big research going on in UK in regards of what is happiness and how can we obtain it. It seems, according to the study, that happiness is a skill that we can learn.

Talking about Happiness, I have come to realize that I will not be always happy. Nobody has promised me this. The Bible especially speaks about anxiety, worries, sadness, testing moments, even great disasters as the end of the world – as we know it – comes. The following verses just come in my mind:

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

(Jesus Christ is speaking)

– John 16v33

We comprehend that we cannot be happy during all days and at all moments. Can we, however, have Joy? I believe that YES. I witness to this truth. Imagine Joy as a fireplace inside the core of our being, a fireplace where the fire is always lit, a place where we can go and take happiness back, a place that is the source of happiness. A river full of water at all times; when we feel unhappy, we can go there and drink some water, refreshing ourselves. This is the Holy Spirit living inside each believer.

It is the Lord who overcame the world and we can overcome through Him. We can learn this skill and our helper the Holy Spirit was sent to us to guide us, to refresh us and to be an unlimited source of joy that can produce happiness. Amen!

Thank you for this. I needed to read this today. I love the burning fire of the holy spirit inside of us analogy or drinking from the refreshing water.

  2. Hi Dimitra, yes I too believe that God has given us the ability to always experience His peace and fullness of joy (Shalom) but in order to experience this healing wholeness we have to hunger for it deeply without this hunger we will not be wiling to let go of the things of this world and submit to God’s will for us. xxx

  3. Thank you, Dimitra. I needed this today. Love the fireplace and river images where we can “re-joy”.
